The mission of AATP is as follows:
* to promote the use of information technology to improve the quality and availability of psychiatry and mental health care
* to promote the development and dissemination of knowledge in the use of technology in psychiatry and mental health
* to foster technology in psychiatry and mental health as a recognized body of knowledge
* to promote the development and dissemination of standards and best practices for use of technology in psychiatry and mental health,
including respect for, and preservation of, confidentiality and privacy
* to inform and influence public policy in the use of technology in psychiatry and mental health
